  • The syndrome that Lane reported in 1908, " Lane disease " or " Arbuthnot Lane disease ", is now usually termed by gastroenterologists either " slow transit constipation " or " slow colon transit " or " colonic inertia ", exhibited by some 15 % to 30 % of constipation patients.
